Based on the inspections carried out, it has been found that up to 30% of housing companies unknowingly pay too much property tax on the property it owns. Housing companies may pay property tax for substantially larger floor areas or even for buildings that have already been demolished. The special inspection of real estate tax offers the opportunity to find savings potential in real estate taxation and possibly apply for refunds of paid real estate tax from the Tax Administration. The inspection will be carried out by a real estate taxation specialist together with the property manager.

The service in a nutshell:

  • The building manager and the specialist review the background information and determine the potential for savings. If some potential for savings is found, a request for an administrative review will be compiled for the tax authorities.
  • This request, signed by the property owner’s representative or the Property Manager, and the related calculations will then be submitted to the Tax Administration.
  • The Tax Administration’s decision will take about 16-18 months.
  • The real estate company will receive 50% of the refunded real estate tax, and full 100% of the future annual savings of real estate tax.
