The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority has investigated whether the Finnish Real Estate Management Federation and companies in the housing management sector are guilty of procedures restricting competition and have reached an understanding of the prices in 2014–2017. On 10 February 2021, the Authority submitted its proposal regarding the matter for processing by the Market Court.

We will study the proposal in closer detail and then issue our response by the agreed deadline. The matter will be processed by the Market Court that will decide on the matter.

The proposal by the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority discusses the activities of the Finnish Real Estate Management Federation and the related communications, as well as the activities of companies in the housing management sector, as members of the Federation, in the sector’s communications. We consider the interpretation of the Authority in the matter to be incorrect, but it is nevertheless in the interest of the housing management sector that the matter is thoroughly investigated.

The matter is regrettable for us and the housing management sector and will understandably raise questions. Notwithstanding the interpretation by the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority, the communications taking place as part of the Federation’s activities have not affected our pricing decisions that are always taken independently and in a customer-specific manner.
