Kari Virta the new Chief Executive Officer of Realia

After 5 successful years in the position, Realia’s President and Chief Executive Officer Matti Bergendahl has resigned from his position and will step down as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company. Matti Bergendahl will move to new opportunities outside the company.

Consequently, Realia’s board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kari Virta as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Group. Kari’s introduction program to Realia will start during October, and he will take full responsibility as Group CEO on November 1. Matti Bergendahl is happy to support Kari in his introduction program and with handover until end of 2019.

“We are thankful to Matti Bergendahl for his contributions in building Realia and its Group companies into a leading pan-Nordic property management and brokerage services company with a very strong and capable organization. During his tenure, the company’s net sales increased from around 90 million EUR in 2014 to over 140 million EUR in 2018. The profitability of the group has developed even more favourably, EBITDA has increased by 70%. The company has strengthened its leadership position within property management services both in Finland and Scandinavia while making significant investments into modernizing internal processes to meet the changing customer requirements” commented Bengt Maunsbach, the Chairman of the board of Realia.

“At the same time, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Kari Virta as Matti’s successor. Kari brings on a wealth of experience from leading Nordic business services companies such as Med Group and ISS Finland. He has a long-proven track record of building services cultures in people-driven businesses and excellent leadership capabilities” Bengt continued.
