According to the Lift Safety Act, the holder of an elevator or escalator must ensure that a maintenance programme is drawn up to maintain the safety of the elevator at regular intervals. The lift’s holder is also responsible for ensuring that the maintenance schedule is followed. The holder must also ensure that the equipment is subject to periodic inspections in accordance with the law.
Our procurement service has produced a service package for a comprehensive elevator and escalator consulting service, which can be easily commissioned right away.
The holder of the lift is responsible for the safety of the lift in use. The holder of the lift, i.e. the owner, is the owner and the holder of the building, represented by the housing company’s Chairman of the Board of Directors and the property manager (Tukes).
In the case of housing companies, this means, in practice, that the responsibility lies with the board of the housing company, which often delegates the practical maintenance to the building manager.
Please note that the service is not yet available nationally, but is currently only available in regions south of Jyväskylä.
